                                                       Buying Concert Tickets

Concerts are very enjoyable events. They can differ in terms of music genre, venue, artist, price and many other aspects. To attend one of these concerts, usually you will need a ticket. This post will explain how obtain tickets for various types of concerts.

Small Local Concert. These concerts usually feature local and/or unsigned artists at small venues such as bars, community centers and more. These bands and venues may not have much exposure, so tickets will likely be unavailable on Ticketmaster or other online ticket retailers. To obtain tickets to a small local concert you will have to contact one of the artists who will be playing that night, contact the venue prior to the concert or buy tickets at the door. Tickets will likely be inexpensive ranging from 5-15 dollars. Example: Reckless playing at The New Black Center for Music and Art.

Stadium Concert (medium sized fan base). These concerts usually feature famous bands who's popularity is either on the rise or decline. Because of the rising or declining popularity of the artist, these concerts won't be selling out. Tickets for these concerts will be available on Ticketmaster and other online ticket retailers, as well as at the box office. Tickets will likely cost between 20 and 100 dollars depending on the artist. Example: Three Dog Night playing at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

Stadium Concert (massive fan base). These concerts feature extremely famous artists who are at the peak of their popularity (Justin Bieber), or bands that have become legends (Led Zeppelin) and have long lasting appeal. These concerts always sell out, and depending on the popularity the concert can sell out within 5 minutes or a month. Tickets for these concerts will be available on Ticketmaster and other online ticket retailers, as well as at the box office. Certain steps must be taken to increase your chances of obtaining a ticket to one of these shows. The most helpful steps are: finding pre-order codes and most importantly camping out either the box office or Ticketmaster (in preparation for a 10 minute sell-out). Example: Red Hot Chili Peppers playing at a a sold out (in less than 10 minutes) Scotiabank Saddledome.
