Macklemore- Otherside

Rapper Macklemore has made many songs but there is one that I think stands out among his other songs, as well as other fellow rappers.His song titled otherside is one that caught my attention right away. Unlike most rappers like Lil Wayne and others that often talk about drugs being a good thing that helps them write their music. Macklemore talks about the reality that it does the opposite. Macklemore states  that most rappers talk positively about drugs in their lyrics so increase sales, and in actuality do not look at drugs in a positive context. Along with the fact that rappers and other musicans influence people an kids with the lyrics in their music. " Us as rappers underestimate the power and the effects that we have on these kids".He also talks about the negative side effects of drugs, and why some people try using drugs. This song is one that inspires people to look at drug refernces in music differently, sets an example of how drug use is glorified in the music industry, as well as the negative side effect.All of which I believe should be talked/ sung about more than it is.
