YouTube was created in 2005 for the sole purpose of allowing anyone to video share. Can you remember a day when YouTube was not easily accessible? I certainly cannot an this must stem from my huge involvement in the YouTube community. With 61 uploads, 106 098 views, and 222 subscribers I am (slowly) making my way up in the YouTube world. Unfortunately my video making has come to a halt as I have become overwhelmed with other activities in my life. Perhaps one day I can make videos that achieve millions of views.
YouTube for me is a way to do whatever I deem acceptable and show it to the world. My personal videos include me in my younger years doing dares and/or spoofs. Now that I have grown a little I try to do some video blogging but those are less popular then the crazy dares. Cinnamon Challenge anybody? YouTube is a way for any person in the world (who has a computer and camera of course) to show people their arts. There are plenty of popular channels that show people doing abstract make-up, dancing, singing, telling jokes, making hilarious spoofs, etc. The content on YouTube is endless and defiantly entertaining. I would say that I spend a good chunk of my time looking at the new Smosh videos.
Pretty much to sum it up - YouTube is a place where everyone can physically show of their talents and/or arts. It is a place where you can be recognized for your talents/art whereas you wouldn't in your normal day activities. It is a place where you don't have to post videos to join, you can just simply watch videos. Lastly, it is a place where you have the potential to make money off of your videos - if they are entertaining enough. For example, in my YouTube days my account was gaining popularity quite fast as I was uploading videos everyday. Google emailed me and asked if I would like to become a partner and allow ads on my channel. Also my account was 13th most viewed (for a week haha) in Canada. Sadly I let other things get in the way and my YouTube opportunities diminished. Perhaps I could have been the new Jenna Marbles! Well without further a due, I shall leave you all with one of my videos from my infamous account. Enjoy but do remember that this was mainly during grade ten and what I thought was funny then certainly isn't as funny now.
WOW 13th most viewed in Canada!! congratulations girl!! I love YouTube as well. I use it for studying, entertainment. For me watching video is more interesting than reading webs.
